Or, rather, its new direction - e-Learning, that is a way to train people using information and communication technologies and e-learning resources.

With such an education, teachers and students are physically located in different places. Often, this is a tutor or an administrator of the distance education system who performs the functions of the teacher. He hands out training tasks, supervises trainees taking courses and passing tests in timely manner, forms and provides to stakeholders reporting documentation on training courses taken by trainees and their tests results.

The main learning resources are usually the online courses. They contain a variety of tasks for self-assessment, interactive tasks, tests, simulators to drill specific skills and knowledge. Upon completion of course, there are a conclusion about the level of acquired knowledge (test results) and a certificate or diploma are given to the trainee.

Tutor communication with students, as well as communication among trainees themselves most often take place via a specified resource on the Internet. For example, there is e-learning portal. It may also be a corporate e-learning portal, designed for the needs of a particular company with a large number of branches and representative offices and wishing to quickly train its staff across Russia.
